Description:

The aims are to provide a broad understanding of basic scientific principles and to equip students to take a leading role in the teaching of Science. In addition to the study of Science as an academic subject, the interaction of scientific developments with society is incorporated into most modules. During the first two years of the course students undertake the following modules:

  • Foundation Studies in Science
  • Energy and Environment
In the third and fourth years students specialise in Biology. The two modules taken are:
  • Biology of Higher Organisms
  • Cell and Behavioural Biology
During their final year students carry out a research project on the behaviour of children in school. This is presented as a formal report.
