The English course is offered in the BEd Primary, BEd Post-Primary (subsidiary) and BA Liberal Arts courses. It explores the three main literary genres -- poetry, prose and drama -- in the context of their historical development. This begins with the modern period in first year and moves to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in second year. In third year, twentieth century literature is the focus, with special emphasis placed on Anglo-Irish literature. Course Guide |
