Northern Ireland, coached by College PE lecturer Dr Elaine McLaughlin, won the Nations Cup in Singapore after going the entire tournament undefeated.
Northern Ireland (ranked 19th) defeated Tanzania (22nd), Canada (20th) Malaysia (21st), Singapore (11th) and Scotland (15th) in the league format of the competition before emerging victors against Scotland in the final 49-34.
The ultimate aim is for the team to qualify for the next year's world championships and the 2014 Commonwealth games.
