College team defeat Armagh

27 January 2011

St Mary's 1-16 Armagh 2-7

St Mary's Gaelic Football Team, under the management and coaching regime of Paddy Tally and Paul McFlynn, gained a well deserved victory in the Dr McKenna Cup last night. St Mary's caused a huge shock by defeating Armagh at the Athletic Grounds where Paddy O'Rourke's side where given a football lesson by the students.

St Mary's boss Paddy Tally was delighted with his charges:

"We didn't do ourselves justice in the Down game and we knew we had more in us. We put up a great performance and were full value for the win. We worked at our game right throughout and whilst there were some very fine individual performances, it was a really good team effort."
