Speaking about the outcome of the National Student Survey1, the Principal of St Mary’s, Professor Peter Finn, said:
“Over the past five years St Mary’s University College has enjoyed a consistently high level of performance in the National Student Survey. This survey examines each of the following areas of the student experience in higher education: teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, personal development and, of course, overall satisfaction. St Mary’s is again delighted that our students recognise and value the high level of support that the staff provide for them, particularly in the areas of teaching and academic support. One hundred per cent satisfaction ratings in both our Initial Teacher Education programmes is a truly exceptional outcome.
I believe that the NSS outcome once again reflects well on the sustainability of St Mary’s as a small and specialist institution of higher education which has a distinctive faith-based educational philosophy. It also reaffirms the College’s position as an integral and successful element of the educational and social fabric of West Belfast.”
