Depression affects one in four people during their lifetime. Support Groups are for anyone affected by depression, including bipolar disorder. This includes friends and relatives who want to know more about depression, and how they can help someone.
The purpose of our Support Group is to bring people together who are experiencing similar problems so that they can support each other and learn more about the illness and available treatments. Attending a group also enables people to share experiences and to discuss self-help strategies and coping skills that will help in the recovery process.
AWARE hosts a Support Group in St Mary’s University College (Room RS066) fortnightly on a Thursday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. We welcome people experiencing depression and their friends and family.
This is free of charge, and anyone is welcome to attend.
