A judging panel was hosted in the College recently to assess the work of the committee, and the judges were very pleased with the high standard and progress of the society. It is a great honour for the Cumann Gaelach to be named in the top seven out of all the universities and colleges in Ireland. Ríoghnach Devine, Students’ Union Culture Officer, and Caoimhe Lynch, Secretary of the Cumann Gaelach Committee, attended the awards ceremony in Dunboyne Castle, Co. Meath on Saturday, 9 April, to receive the award on behalf of the Cumann Gaelach. The money will help the society further promote the Irish language in St Mary’s next year.
Cumann Gaelach Award21 April 2016 The Cumann Gaelach in St Mary’s has been awarded €1,000 in the national Glór na nGael awards, an annual highlight of the Irish language calendar.
