St Mary’s Second in Guardian League Tables for Education in 2017

St Mary’s University College, Belfast is ranked in second place for the subject area of Education in the Guardian League Tables 2017, which were released on Monday, 23rd May 2016.

These are the measures used to establish the ranking in the Guardian League Tables:

  • Student satisfaction
  • Entry standards
  • Student to staff ratio
  • Spend in academic departments
  • Graduate prospects
  • Value added

Seventy-seven universities are listed in the Education area with only Cambridge University listed ahead of St Mary’s in the ranking.


The Principal of St Mary’s, Professor Peter Finn said:

“Once again St Mary’s is delighted to be ranked so highly in the Guardian League Tables. The tables provide a good indicator of the quality of the student experience that the College offers to its education students.
