Dr Jana Kamenická
St Mary's recently hosted a visit from Dr Jana Kamenická, assistant professor in the Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia.
The vist was part of an Erasmus+ exchange programme and included working with international students currently in St Mary's and discussion on specialist interests with College staff.
She also met with staff members interested in her field of research, focusing on neuroscientific and psychological aspects of foreign language teaching and learning, especially the role of emotions in education.
Dr Kamenická is the author and co-author of several publications, including Positive Emotions in Teaching Foreign Language Vocabulary (2021) and Positive Emotional Stimuli in Teaching Foreign Language Vocabulary (2022).
St Mary's has had a long standing partnership with Nitra and exchanges students on an annual basis.
