St Mary’s University College was delighted to welcome George Hamilton, chief constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to the Falls Road campus in West Belfast on 1 May, the feast of St Joseph the Worker, patron of the College.

The Chief Constable delivered a lecture to a large audience of both students and members of staff on the theme of transformation. Along with Staff Officer Superintendent Andrew Freeburn, he then held a private discussion with students on policing issues that was facilitated by Maggie Hagan, President of the College Students’ Union.

In the course of his lecture, Mr Hamilton addressed three dimensions of transformation i.e., personal, organisational and societal.
