The Chairperson of the St Mary’s governing body, Bishop Noel Treanor, recently opened the fifth “Faith and Life” convention in the Diocese of Down and Connor.
He said:
“Let us not be deceived into living a life of desolation. God is in our midst. As the people of God, together let us discern how to lift and encourage one another, so there will be a light shining in the darkness.”
The keynote speaker was Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, SBD, from Honduras.
St Mary’s University College was represented at the convention by the College’s principal, Professor Peter Finn, KSG, who undertook the role of compère, and Sharon Haughey, Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies, who led one of the workshops.
