Dr Peter Collins in Gdansk, Poland, on Teacher Mobility (TM)

Dr Peter Collins of the History Department spent five days on teacher mobility, March 5-9, at one of our partner institutions in Poland the University of Gdansk. He was made very welcome by his host Dr Piotr Kallas and his colleagues. Dr Collins gave lectures on the history and present status of the Irish language, the politics of the Cultural Revival, the history of Belfast and conducted a virtual tour of the Belfast murals by way of photos he has taken. He also had a meeting with the Director of the Foreign Language Training College of the University. They discussed increased cooperation between our two institutions. One of the topics discussed was the large number of Polish children in some of our partner schools in the north and ways in which our two institutions might provide support for teachers and pupils.
