Eibhlin Mhic Aoidh, Senior Lecturer in Irish-medium Education visited the Humanities and Education Faculty (HUHEZI) of the University of Mondragon in the Basque Country in mid October. Mondragon University is a dynamic part of the Mondragon Cooperative Corporation (MCC) which is firmly committed to the development of Basque language and culture. The purpose of the teacher mobility visit was to explore common issues in Irish-medium and Basque-medium Education and in initial teacher education in minority languages. The host teacher, Txema Egana, arranged visits to local Basque-medium schools. This teacher mobility scheme has provided an opportunity to explore further links between the host institution and St Mary's University College Belfast.
