Religious Education

An important qualification for a Catholic teacher is the commitment and the willingness and ability to teach religion in school. In order to prepare for the call to teach religious education, the Religious Education Department provides a course in Religious Education leading to a Certificate. The Certificate may be awarded with Distinction, High Commendation, Commendation or Pass.

The course is designed both to develop your personal understanding of religion and to familiarise you with approaches to religious education in Catholic schools. You will have the opportunity to teach Religious Education on school experience and will have the tutorial assistance of a member of the Religious Education Department.

The Religious Education Department actively supports and contributes to the ecumenical initiatives of the College and is committed to the furtherance of the aims of Education for Mutual Understanding.
