The Folk Group provides an opportunity for students from all departments to play an active role in the College Liturgy. The weekly College Liturgy lies at the heart of St Mary’s Catholic ethos. It enables the staff and students of the College to take time to focus on developing their spiritual life and allows an escape from the stress of everyday life. The Folk Group plays a vital role and works in conjunction with the liturgy group to ensure that the Mass is fulfilling and spiritually enriching for all those who participate. Although the main aim of the College Folk Group is to further the Eucharistic celebration, it also provides a social outlet for students during practices and other events. The Folk Group sings at the College Liturgy every Thursday but also at all major liturgical celebrations throughout the year, such as the Dedication of Studies and Graduation Masses. We always welcome new members, whether singers or musicians, and hope to have yet another successful year.
